Limited to only 25 instruments, the Flying Dolphin represents Nik's finest
work. The workmaship is exquisite and Flying Dolphin #6 is one of the most
incredible instruments in the market. It is a double
stained Atlantic Blue Dolphin II with an exceptional 1-piece quilted top .
It has a magnificent flamed Mahogany body with exquisite maple topside body purfling. The Flying Dolphin includes an 85 piece Handcut
Multi-Inlay made of Abalone, Black Pearl, Mother of Pearl, and Sterling Silver
on the top of the body. Body inlays are very unique, and very difficult to
build. Flying #6 also has the Brazilian Rosewood package consisting of a
Brazilian Rosewood Neck, Fingerboard, Pickup covers, Truss rod cover, and
backside control plate. It has a 25.5" scale, which helps with sustain and
playability. It has 2 Haussel Humbucking pick-ups, Nik's preferred
pick-up choice. #6 has a stop tail. Additionally, #6 has gold
hardware, a 5-way switch, and Abalone dolphin inlays in the fingerboard and
headstock to compliment the body inlay. Another coming in early 2007.
